Our Institute

The Kommende Dortmund is the Social Institute of the Archdiocese of Paderborn. As an interface between church and society it wants to sensitize people for the ideal of justice of the Catholic Social Teaching. With its diverse educational and conference program, Kommende Dortmund carries signals for the shaping of a just coexistence into society, the economy and politics, thus advancing the discussion about the ethical principles of our everyday life.

The Conference House

The Social Institute Kommende Dortmund is located in the middle of the district Dortmund-Brackel. Idyllically situated behind an old quarry stonewall in the middle of a park, the Kommende is today a much-visited educational institution for political and social education. With heart, mind and modern technology, a committed team ensures that the numerous seminars, art and cultural events run smoothly and that the guests of the house enjoy a pleasant, eventful stay.
